A real treat for me to paint this lovely boy who I had the pleasure to meet many times in his younger years, Alfie sadly passed away in 2020 and is much missed by his owners who supplied a real assortment of images for reference, I chose to paint from a typically happy photo of him at the beach, as with so many dogs it was one of his favourite places.
This is a small portrait at just 12" x 12" but as a memorial to a much loved family member it certainly packs a punch! RIP Alfie x
2020 ended on a high note for me with a rare commission for a cat portrait!
I knew I would enjoy this one as soon as the request came in, these two beauties are Lily (tortie & white)and Poppy (B/W) sisters by birth but completely different characters, I composed the painting from separate photographs, as (despite their close proximity in the portrait) my client had no photos of them together, stating that they rarely interact!
Gorgeous Snoopy was a familiar face for me to portray, as I have previously painted his Dad Benny not once but twice!
This cheeky little JRT has strong family resemblance to his dad but is a very different little character, I had to re-employ my old pastels for this commission as my client wanted some continuity with the previous portraits.
I am really pleased with the new portrait and think they will look great together!
I recently had the utmost pleasure to be asked to paint Andor, at 14 years old he is a most dignified elderly gentleman, his owner requested a 12"x 16" traditional acrylic on canvas painting to be presented to her husband for his birthday, the painting was completed with a simple black tray frame.
I was recently commissioned to paint "Tilly" a gorgeous little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Tilly's portrait was painted traditionally with acrylic paints on canvas, she was fresh from the groomers and wearing a little ribbon which added some charm to the portrait.

Another Birthday surprise was this 16"x20" acrylic portrait in memory of this much loved Spinone.
In true breed tradition Lucca had a real affinity with water and his owner requested this rather unusual composition, it was a challenge to paint such a soggy wet dog but one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
